DUPE publication was created as a message for young women who feel the need to comply with 'Instagram trends' in order to look or appear a certain way. This uplifting magazine presents both the serious and light-hearted side of these trends from an individual's wardrobe choice, to permanent surgical procedures used to 'edit' appearances.
Built from researched articles, interviews and photoshoots, DUPE was a group effort, created by four individuals passionate about the way young women are becoming inflicted and effected by unrealistic appearance goals. This was played on the idea of Instagram filters, created to adjust specific facial features. We delved into the effects these filters have had on impressionable, young audiences and aimed to bring light to the situation as well as spreading the important 'love yourself' message.
