In July 2018 I began a one year internship working as Content and Marketing Assistant at Focus International. The company is a JD Sports owned business with licenses across many apparel companies such ellesse, Peter Werth and Certified London. This rewarding role provided me with the new skills to assist my future career in marketing including copywriters' responsibilities, social media management and website content.
One of my main roles was creating website content in the form of product descriptions for ellesse.co.uk. Creating the descriptions allowed my copywriting skills to develop as they could not launch on the sites with any grammar or spelling mistakes. They had to meet strict deadlines in time for the online launches as well as seal approval from the owners of the specific brands.
A more creative aspect of the role was to organise and coordinate both campaign and ecommerce photoshoots. Alongside organising the run up to the shoots, I also had the responsibility of keeping a social media presence throughout. This was to ensure that the consumers were kept in the loop of future projects which acted as a teaser.
This task also meant that I had high responsibility over product to ensure all apparel pieces were attendant at the shoot location and that every piece was photographed. This meant communicating with various departments and internationally to ensure placement of all the products.
